  If you're visiting Tobermory, you must stop by the Chip Wagon (now trailer) for some fish and chips, as well as the smoked fish next door. Keep in mind, the Chip Wagon is located on 5992 Highway 6, just east of Emmett Lake Road (don't go by the map marker on Yelp).
  
  The ladies at the front were very welcoming and friendly. Aside from the seats on the 'deck', there are several picnic tables behind the trailer, so you can enjoy your delicious fish under the sun.
  
  Instead of cod or halibut, you have the choice between trout and whitefish. Or simply try both! Fresh fish, skin on, lightly battered, and deep-fried to perfection. I personally enjoyed the trout more because I liked the firmer texture, but most of my family preferred the whitefish.
  
  We ordered one too many dinners as the portions were generous. (You can order 'fish only'.) The tartar sauce was delicious and the fries were decent.
  
  I have tried the fish and chips in Tobermory, but this place is way better! From now on, I will make sure to stop by and eat fish and chips here every time I visit Tobermory.
  
  (If you're lucky, you may befriend a few squirrels that run around the area looking for food, or even spot one sleeping in one of the trees.)

  Some of the best whitefish I've had in a while, and very reasonably priced. Batter was light and crisp, fish was moist and flaky. The fries were also very well done and didn't get too waterlogged even with the addition of malt vinegar. The coleslaw on the side had a very unique vinegar dressing that I prefer to the standard mayo. Fast service and good food!

  I came here based on all the good reviews on Yelp. It's a cute little chip wagon (now a renovated trailer)
  
  We ordered a large fry and a large poutine just as travel food. It took 30 minutes for them to call our number. Granted, they were pretty busy... But 30 minutes for 2 orders of fries is a little crazy. My fries were good (although not 30 minutes good) but could have been a little warmer. The person I was with said their poutine was good.
  
  I don't eat meat so this review is based solely on the fries and service. I'd still recommend checking it out for yourself!
  
  OH and the address here on Yelp didn't take us to the chip wagon. We had to continue driving until we saw it on the left hand side (leaving tobermory) which was about 7km.

  The positives: nice new building with brand new picnic tables and a clean outhouse with soap, water, and paper towels. That deserves and extra star given that the location is sort of like a truck stop along Highway 6.
  
  The negatives: the fried whitefish. I rarely turn away food but 2 bites in and I was done with it. The fish was overcooked, smelled fishy (not fresh), and had a large amount of skin in it. The batter was dark and greasy, typically a result of not changing the cooking oil. Overall some of the worst fried fish I can recall having. By comparison we had just had some really good fried halibut in Toronto which is not even a local whitefish.
  
  The establishment is also so confusing. Apparently they've had various names and was previously a food truck called Chip Wagon, but the signs along the road and on the building simply state "Smoked Fish - Fish N Chips". Yet the menu posted next to the order window is entitled "Lone Wolf Fish + Chips". There is a building next door called "Lone Wolf Drive Thru" that has to-go items like coffee but also smoked fish sometimes. Yet all the signs along Hwy 6 have the Lone Wolf name covered up by the new generic Fish N Chips signage. Their marketing dept needs an overhaul.
  
  Overall a difficult to find, confusing place with greasy, overcooked, smelly fish.

  This place is amazing. Best fish and chips I have ever had in my short time here on this earth(but I have Catholic roots so fish fry Friday's are a staple in spring).
  
  Came here after reading already good reviews on Yelp and it was very close to our campsite.
  
  Scott and I both had the white fish dinner. He had fries, I had poutine.
  
  The fish was crisp and made to order, we could see through the window as they were battering our individual fish and putting them in the fryer.
  
  The fries were crisp and seasoned perfectly, not too salty. And the poutine could've used a little less gravy but I ate them all and was very satisfied before hiking two miles into camp.
